Claire + Roger · 5.17.25
Claire and Roger got married on a beautiful May afternoon at the iconic Garfield Park Conservatory. (Keep reading and scrolling to see the finished piece!)
This wedding was expertly coordinated by Sustainable Soirees, a fellow member of the Sustainable Events Collective, and they even had WasteNot Composting services on site to make the event as eco-friendly as possible! Florals by Hedonia Flowers added the most romantic pops of color throughout the event as well, and the party was absolutely PUMPING thanks to Yazz Events‘ expert emceeing and musicians!
Emma Peterson gorgeously captured the entirety of the day, including most of the photos shown on this page!
I worked all through dinner (almost missed my own meal because I was so focused!) and into the dance party! I got to witness the bride’s own solo moment when she got to sing Dancing Queen with the band!
And then, before calling it a day and taking this piece home to complete it at my studio, the bride and groom took turns contributing to the piece themselves!
My day started a little later than usual for this wedding painting, as the venue did not allow vendors to arrive before 3pm for a 5pm start time. I typically like to get started at least 3-4 hours ahead of guests’ arrival, so I felt like I was cutting it a bit closer than I would have liked. But I set up and got to work as soon as I arrived!
I always make my couples aware that I will not be able to finish their painting on-site. Some wedding painters can, but I am not one of them. I know the level of detail I’m able to achieve, and I need more time after the wedding day to finish creating a piece I am proud to present to my couples.
And this painting was absolutely no exception–not only because I got a late start, but also (and especially) because of the stunning and very elaborate mosaic fountain that would be the focal point of this piece. I mean, look at her!
It was such an absolute blast to take this painting from what it was at the end of wedding night to what the final piece ended up being! These elaborate details made it so much more impressive to see the finished piece, and I am incredibly proud of my work on this painting! And Claire and Roger were absolutely the sweetest when they came to pick up their painting! This piece will go down in the hall of fame (of my wedding paintings lol) for sure!
