Commissions

What kinds of commissions do I do?

Long story short, all kinds! I love working with clients to create the perfect piece of art for their homes. I have done pet portraits, triptychs, dinosaur paintings (a lot of dinosaur paintings, now that I think about it!), abstract paintings and so on. However, my bread and butter is florals! I absolutely adore painting wedding bouquets. For information specifically on wedding bouquet portraits, click here.

Whatever it is you’re looking for, I would love to make it happen for you! I have not yet come across a commission that I’ve had to turn down. Let’s get creative together!  Read below for more information on how the commission process works.

Step 6

Receive your piece!

・Fill out the form below. Include a little bit of information about the painting that you’re looking to commission. Be as detailed as you’d like! This can be info such as size, budget, subject matter, colors, timeline, and more!

・Look over the pricing guide.   Acrylic commissions start at $200, and watercolor starts at $175.  Additional fees may be assessed for nontraditional surfaces or materials, rushed timelines, intricate subject matter, etc. I am happy to send some tips and tricks to find the best size for your request.

・Once you have confirmed the size of your painting, I will write up a contract for you to sign. Your contract will include payment info, expectations, timeline, ownership, and sharing rights info. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure my time and materials for your project before I begin working on a piece.

・Now the fun stuff can start! This is where you send me photos, and we chat details like background and layout, etc.  If needed, I will create a sketch of your piece.  This step is typically done via email, but a call or zoom may be scheduled upon request

・And the painting begins! I will send you pictures and post on social media* throughout the process to keep you involved in each part of the project.  Paintings can take up to three months depending on my schedule and queue of paintings, and the intricacy of the painting itself.
*Social media posts can be postponed if the project is a surprise. Just ask!

・Once the painting is complete, I varnish it and take photos of the work for my records, marketing, and possible prints. Then, if you’re local to Chicago, we can schedule pick up or delivery, and if not, your painting will head off in the mail! Final payment plus shipping, where applicable, is due at this time.
